'Who Needs Guitars Anyway?' Wouldn't receive half the bashing heaped on it by the pundits, if people took a moment to realize that this album does not pretend to be a mind-expanding life-changing trance experience. What it is, is solidly manufactured trance flavored synthpop candy designed to promote feel-good vibes, and it excells at the task with three superb dancefloor numbers (1, 2 and 4) kicking off the set. Of course, it would have been hard to mantain throughout the whole album the frenetic pace set by the breathtaking free fall of 'The Lonely One', and things fade a little from that point on, with the second half of the album more suited for background listening. Still, elevator music this is not, and I can whole-heartedly recommend this album to anyone who prefers good times to counting calories.
